The Saskatchewan Motorsport Association
Introduction to the Sport of Motocross
Hopefully this will answer a lot of the common questions that are asked and help you concentrate more on having fun and discovering what a great sport motocross is. This information is for local events only. Information for other associations might be different.
IMPORTANT REALITY CHECK:
Motor sports racing is inherently dangerous. There is always a risk of serious injury. Riders should not participate in events or ride unless they have adequate medical insurance to cover a catastrophic injury. Riders and/or their guardians are solely responsible for preparing all equipment. RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
It is mandatory that each rider purchase their own transponder or rent one at each race. A limited number of Transponders will be available to rent at each Saskatchewan Race.
Rental is $25.00 a day plus you will have to purchase a mount for each of your bikes for $5.00 each.
SASKATCHEWAN REGION RULES

- Credentials required for access to the track. Available for sign out at registration. No one will be allowed on the track without this. Fines will be assessed.
- Riders may ride double as long as all riders have helmets and at walking speed only !!!.
- Generators must be turned off at 11 p.m., subject to weather, health reasons and emergencies.
Countdown to First 2019 SMA Race
Get to know our fantastic team...
After watching my two sons race SMA events over the past eight years, I feel it’s time for me to become more involved in helping however I can, and giving back to the sport we all love.
I currently hold the position as the SMA President. This is my second year in this position and prior to that I held the position of SMA Secretary from 2014-2016. Once in a while they even let me wear a headset and official CMRC shirt ;)
I have been involved in motocross since my son Josh (#762 and now an Intermediate) started on a 50 in 2008. My youngest Noah (#95 now riding a Supermini) also started racing and since then we’ve been fully committed. We’ve had the opportunity to travel all across the Canada and US competing and have made many friends along the way. Looking forward to a great 2017 season of Family Friends and Fun!
I’m new to the SMA board. I am the club rep for Yorkton.
I look forward to the upcoming year and working with all the great people in the motor cross family
MA Board Member of over 10 years holding positions of President, Vice President and Past President.
CMRC Pro Motocross Nationals
Safety Marshall / Assistant Referee / Event Staff
My last competitive race was in 2008 in the MX1 Intermediate class.
I look forward to my new position as Race Director for the 2018/19 seasons. Working behind the scenes, I will be handling the scheduling of event staff and ensuring to the best of my ability that we have great races with family oriented atmosphere set up for our membership to enjoy and take part in.
I have enjoyed the past eight years as a motocross Mom and hope to become even more familiar with the sport through my assistance with the SMA this season
Marketing & Promotions
Heather became involved in motocross in 2013 when her two sons Brendan #99 & Ethan #11 started racing. Heather became involved with the SMA in 2015 when she took on the position of the Secretary and then in 2016 the position of Promotions/Marketing. Heather is also actively involved with motocross in her community of Lloydminster where she is currently the President of the Lloydminster Motocross Association.
Who am I
- A local rider who dreamed of racing professional motocross
- Grew up racing in Saskatoon and took it to the provincial level then to the national level
- Have been racing the pro class for 8 years
Why I wanted to be on the SMA board
- I wanted to have a voice and more importantly be the voice for riders to make motocross in this province the absolute best that it can be
- To do anything I can to help the sport progress to the next level
